A factory visit is not a tour of the lobby. It is a sequence of small observations: how material is stored, how a line is balanced, where quality checks happen and how people talk about problems.
What we look for
- Material traceability — can the team explain where inputs come from?
- Process ownership — which steps happen in-house, and which are subcontracted?
- Quality gates — what is checked, by whom, and what happens when it fails?
- Capacity reality — does the stated capacity match the floor we can see?
A good visit leaves you with better questions, not just better photos.
